"Located on a small hill between the south region of the Alvelos Mountains and the flat land of 'charneca', this village is vastly flat, making it easy to move around. It is part of its material heritage, the village shows the remains of its communal way of life such as a fountain for the use of the population, a fountain for the use of the cattle, a community oven, threshing floor and a mill. The urban structure was planned in order to make it possible to have doors at the entrances to the village for protection against night wolf attacks; vestiges of such doors still exist."
