Viewpoint of Monte De Arnelas (Esposende)
On the border between the parishes of Gemeses and Perelhal (Barcelos municipality) at the base of Monte de Arnelas, there is a place with a fabulous panoramic view of the parish, the middle course of the Cávado River in the municipality of Esposende and its north coast. On this hill overlooking Gemeses, one can spot remains of a megalithic structure and various pillars, ruins of an old windmill of circular structure, and granite rubble that, according to popular oral tradition, belonged to the "Old Chapel of the Mountain" and never was finished, as well as a monolith that marks the division between the two parishes.
