The Aguieiras waterfall can be observed from a viewpoint integrated in the Paiva Passageways, located in the Paiva Gorge. This waterfall is formed by the waterfall of the Aguieiras stream and is the result of the confluence of several tributaries that cross the parish of Alvarenga. After travelling a large part of this parish, the waters of this stream fall vertiginously down the granite escarpments that line the right bank of the Paiva River, through a set of slopes that total about 160 meters, offering a scenario of great natural beauty. The Aguieiras stream takes advantage of the orthogonal fracturing of the Alvarenga granite massif to make its way to the Paiva.
