Victoria Falls, or Mosi-oa-Tunya – “The Smoke That Thunders” – is a truly awe-inspiring natural wonder, a place where the Zambezi River plunges dramatically over a basalt cliff into a deep gorge. This remarkable waterfall, situated on the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe, is one of the largest and most powerful on the planet, sculpted by an ancient fracture system running across the southern African plateau.
