Swinging Park of Science (Matosinhos)

The landfill in Matosinhos, next to Mount S. Brás, was officially closed and sealed giving way to the Science Park, which was inaugurated on May 27th, 2009.
The Science Park occupies an area of about 8 hectares and was the subject of a landscape restoration that included sealing the landfill, installing infrastructure, planting trees and shrubs, providing the population with a large natural area.
In this project, there was a concern for the re-naturing and valuing of the banks of the Leça River, recovering the riparian gallery and creating leisure areas as well as an ecopath.
The Science Park has a great attraction for children and the whole family: the Baloiço Science Park. Suspended from a tree, this swing is held by a climbing belt, making it perfectly safe. Once up, you'll see the surroundings of the Science Park in a truly special way.
