The viewpoint is located in one of the highest points of the parish of Carviçais, namely, in the square of Santa Bárbara.

It offers a privileged view of the entire village, with the nearby localities belonging to the parish: Quintas da Macieirinha, Martim Tirado, Quintas das Pereiras and Quintas da Estrada being visible.

The viewpoint also provides views of Cabeço da Mua, where mineral exploration is currently taking place, and of the parish of Mós.

From here, one can contemplate the vast horizons of rare beauty, distinguishing the neighbouring boroughs of Mogadouro and Freixo de Espada à Cinta and, further away, it is possible to observe Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo and the Serra da Marofa.
