"Located in the Serra do Açor, close to the source of the Ceira River and the quartzitic cliffs of Fajão, and surrounded by forest, this ancient village is a great destination for alpinism and climbing practitioners as part of the Complexo do Açor, Natura 2000 S.I.C. It features a well-maintained, restored shale nucleus of buildings, as well as a range of support structures including a swimming pool, restaurants, accommodation, grocer's and banking services. Part of its material heritage includes chapels, XIX century private dwellings, public wash-house, fountain, alminha and the Monsenhor Nunes Pereira Museum. Access may be difficult, but there is a parking lot outside the village limits."
