Skye
Nestled at the foot of the Black Cuillin mountains on the Isle of Skye, the Fairy Pools offer an experience unlike any other. These natural pools, a captivating feature of the Scottish Highlands, have earned their name through the unbelievably clear, crystal-blue waters that cascade down from the Quin mountains. The streams feeding these pools imbue them with a vibrant, almost surreal, blue and green hue, enhanced by the rich, dark soil.
Visitors are drawn to the Fairy Pools for the chance to swim in their refreshing, albeit brisk, waters – a truly invigorating experience. Photographers, too, find themselves repeatedly drawn to capture the magical landscape, reminiscent of a fantasy novel. While access can be challenging, particularly due to the unpredictable Scottish weather, the journey to reach this serene spot is undeniably worthwhile. Regular bus services (autocarro) operate from nearby towns, though a car provides greater flexibility. Nearby attractions such as the Old Man of Storr, Neist Point, and Coral Beach offer even more to explore during your visit to Skye, making it a truly unforgettable destination.
The pools are a testament to the region’s untouched natural beauty, a place where you can connect with the raw power and tranquility of the Scottish Highlands. Don’t forget your swimwear!

Skype Aline’s one over the most remote places to get in in Scotland, the weather there it’s unpredictable and sometimes impossible to get in. It took the government many years to accept from the people that lived there the natives a bridge that connects Scotland with this island, they speak their own language. They have a few hotels very expensive and the land it’s incredible. You just in 20 minute drive you will see all sorts of natural sites, if you are a lover of nature, this is the most one.
This place looks incredibly beauts and I’ve never been but hey ho, I’ll give it a 4 stars as I love Scots being 25% Scottish myself😌 The closest I’ve ever been to here is Glenfinnan many moons ago. Only got the 3 pics, +…another one I made myself.. I believe Scots Gaelic is primarily common over here in Skye, it’s an interesting one for you to translate.. 😈 Enjoy🙏🏼
Se dovete scegliere un unico posto da visitare in tutta la Scozia dovrebbe essere Skye. Ci sono tantissime attrazioni MUST come l’Old man of Storr, Neist Point, Fairy Pools, Coral Beach e tanti altri ma in generale tutta l’isola è magica e consiglio di dedicarle almeno 3/4 giorni.
Fairy pools are a must see!!
Wirklich schön 🦆 ohne Auto leider nicht gut erreichbar - was für die Naturbelassenheit aber sehr gut ist!!
