The Sistelo Walkways, part of the famous Ecovia do Vez, are one of the most impressive natural attractions in northern Portugal. Located in the picturesque village of Sistelo, this route combines lush landscapes, crystal-clear rivers, wooden walkways, and stunning views over the terraced hillsides that have earned the region the nickname "the Little Portuguese Tibet."

Along the route, visitors follow the course of the Vez River and cross areas of almost untouched nature, where native woodlands, small waterfalls, river beaches, and perfect spots to rest are the dominant features. The tranquility of the surroundings makes this walk ideal both for nature lovers and for those looking to disconnect from routine.

The Ecovia do Vez stretches for about 33 km and can be explored in different sections, allowing the experience to be adapted to physical ability and available time. There are more accessible sections and others that are more demanding, and it is common to find walkers, cyclists, and photographers along the way.

One of the area's greatest highlights is the terraces of Sistelo, built over centuries for mountain farming. These impressive structures shape the entire landscape and create a scenery that is unique in Portugal. During spring and summer, the intense green covers the slopes, providing truly unforgettable views.

Beyond its natural beauty, the region preserves a strong rural and cultural heritage. Traditional granite houses, granaries, and old agricultural paths help keep the Minho identity of the village alive. The local gastronomy also deserves special mention, especially the typical dishes of the Alto Minho region.
