Address
Freguesia de Pedrógão Pequeno, Município de Sertã
"Situated on the left bank of the Zêzere River, near the Cabril Dam, one of the main Portuguese dams. It was founded in 150 BC by the Roman consul Aulo Curcio, and over the centuries it belonged to the Order of the Temple and the Order of the Hospital. It is a "white village" where most of the granite houses were plastered and whitewashed from the 1950s and 1960s. The locality has archaeological attractions such as a section of Roman pavement that led to a branch access to an Iron Age castle, as well as more recent constructions such as chapels, bridges and private residences."
