"It is one of the most beautiful viewpoints of the entire region of Douro, the S. Leonardo viewpoint, where Miguel Torga “dived” in the river and ventured into the magnificent landscape of this "sublimated Doiro", whom he called in one of his "Diaries" an "excess of nature". On a stone is recorded an excerpt from the work of one of the greatest Portuguese writers of the twentieth century, in which the Douro is a constant presence.
