The São Brás Lagoon is located in the Ribeira Grande municipality, in the parish that gives it its name. It is in a relatively flat area and close to Pico Moniz and Monte Escuro. It is located at an altitude of 610 meters above sea level, has a length of 330 meters and a width of 200. It has a maximum depth of 2.3 meters, occupying an area of 0.06 km². In its fauna cows and ducks can be found, with the presence of cows being related to the pastures that surround it. It is also known for its beautiful images provided for the occasion of the Açores Rally.
