In Summer, we suggest a day spent in the Praia do Rosário, resting in the peaceful sand sprinkled with shells from the famous Tejo oysters (whose fishing was once the only sustenance of many families), or snacking in the pleasant picnic park or even delighting in a caldeirada à fragateiro in one of the local restaurants. If it's bullfight day on the beach, be sure to protect yourself from the charges but don't forget to appreciate the particular luminosity of the sunset in the Manueline chapel courtyard over the Mar da Palha that still enchants photographers, film makers, publicists, not to mention the Rosarenses themselves.
