Around 1.5 km from the village that gave its name to the dam, the Alqueva River Beach is born. Located in the heart of the Great Lake, this new beach destination offers excellent conditions for enjoying this territory on hot summer days. This is the second beach in the Portel municipality in the largest artificial lake in Europe, which offers a sand beach and grassed area with parasols and rushes that stretch for a vast leisure area of more than 15 thousand square meters.
