Set in the village area of Ponte do Mouro, in the municipality of Monção, Praia Fluvial da Ponte do Mouro is a peaceful riverside spot on the clear waters of the River Mouro. Surrounded by greenery and shaped by the quiet character of the Vale do Mouro, it is a pleasant place to relax on sunny days, enjoy a refreshing swim, or simply pause by the river.

The area has been improved with wooden walkways of around one kilometre, allowing visitors to explore stretches of the riverbank that were once difficult to access. The route is easy and inviting, with natural scenery, small pools, and old mills along the way, making it suitable for a short walk before or after a swim. The river, which rises in the Peneda-Gerês National Park, is known for its clean waters and unspoilt feel.

This is also a place with historical resonance, linked to the traditions surrounding one of the earliest alliances between Portugal and England. In summer, a nearby bar adds convenience for visitors spending the day here; it is advisable to bring cash or a Multibanco card. Small, calm, and family-friendly, this river beach offers a simple and authentic escape in northern Portugal.
