The Bateria do Pico da Castanheira, officially named as Military Building nº 003/Ponta Delgada, is located in the peak of Castanheira, in the parish of Arrifes, in the municipality of Ponta Delgada, on the island of São Miguel, in the Azores.

Headquarters of the Independent Coast Defense Battery nº 1, it is composed, in terms of physical facilities, by two distinct areas: the battery itself, characterized by an underground fortified complex, and an accommodation area, about 500 meters away from the first, where the respective supports - administrative and logistical: the so-called "Quartel da Grotinha" are concentrated.
