Located in the Peneda-Gerês National Park, it has an approximate height of 30 meters. Its white foam produced by the water in the fall makes it visible from a great distance. The waters fall behind the pilgrim's dormitories of the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Peneda, which were converted into a hotel in 2005, and pass under the building and the adjoining square.
