In Torres Vedras
Where the ocean meets the river, one of the most beautiful walks in the Oeste region begins.
The Praia Azul Boardwalk, in Torres Vedras, invites you to enjoy a peaceful walk between the Atlantic, the dunes, and the mouth of the Sizandro River, in a landscape where nature remains the true highlight.
At around 570 metres long, this pedestrian route links Praia Azul to the Praia da Foz area, offering an accessible walk, including for people with reduced mobility. More than just a simple boardwalk, it is a carefully planned structure designed to protect the fragile dune system, allowing visitors to enjoy the scenery without harming the local ecosystem.
Along the way, the landscape shifts between the blue of the sea, the calm of the river, wide sandy stretches, and striking cliffs. It is a perfect place for relaxed walks, birdwatching, breathing in the fresh air, or simply listening to the sound of the sea.
On quieter days, especially during the week or early in the morning, the atmosphere becomes particularly special, ideal for anyone seeking peace and quiet. At the end of the day, the sunset over the cliffs turns this walk into a true postcard scene.
For those who want to extend their outing, the surrounding area offers other trails and natural viewpoints with wide views over the coast.
Tip: Bring a jacket, even in summer. The Atlantic breeze is usually very present here.
