The wonderful Folhadela Parish Church, also known as the Church of St. James and located in Vila Real, as well as its aldean imaginarium, already are enough reason for a visit from those who are interested in religious architecture. Inspired by the past, here we find a blend of Romantic and 19th century architecture, beauty that can be appreciated in its exterior, through the main pediment façade, as well as in the interior, with baroque style and Neo-classical carvings. But besides of this there is still reasons for those who appreciate mural paintings to travel to Vila Real. Part of the reasons that should make you visit the church are the 16th century mural paintings, which present affinities with the murals of the Church in Midões and all kind of art details that recreate the ambience of this place.
