Located in the heart of Lisbon, Our Lady of Light (Sanctuary) offers visitors magnificent views of the city and its surroundings, prepared to receive car visits. One of the most beautiful churches in Lisbon, the current church is the surviving transept and chancel that survived the 1755 earthquake. Dom Manuel said and had the architects Jerónimo de Ruão and Pedro Nunes Tinoco in Mannerist style. Inside you can observe the tomb of D. Maria, princess of Portugal and daughter of D. Manuel, dated from the 16th century, besides a painting about the delivery of the rule: "São Bento to donate the rule to the Order of Christ and to the nuns of the Incarnation". Sculptures that survived the earthquake, together with the image of the Virgin, make up this visit. On the left side of the entrance, you can find the float of our lord of the steps. Its image of suffering is certainly the one that fascinates visitors the most. Visiting Our Lady of Light (Sanctuary) is a unique experience aimed at spreading faith, knowledge and peace. This is the best opportunity to experience a church of remarkable historical and architectural beauty.
