Monte Real Castle (Leiria)
The rectangular plant is formed by the articulation of three bodies, a walled space by four walls topped with crenellations, presenting two pointed arches and opened by two straight-barred doors, one of which, with a salient cornice, accesses the chapel with an attached frontispiece to the wall topped with angular eaves protruding to the height of the battlements and belfry.
Covering with a differentiated two-water roof, extending in a running eaves over the sacristy.
O. facade composed of a counterforts (between the palace and the chapel), panel of the nave and the main chapel (projecting). S. facade in angular spout opened by two overlapping slots.
E. facade in straight eaves, opened in the main chapel by an ogival window; projecting body of the nave pierced by a straight window and counterforts arranged parallel to the side.
INTERIOR of a single nave with a paved floor and roof in a wooden ceiling arranged in three planes, a full truss arch, flanked by two altars, opens to the main chapel with the same type of floor and roof with an altar containing the image of the patron.
Lighting done by the windows of the nave and main chapel.
In the paved floor of the nave, nineteenth-century burial slabs are arranged.
