The Baloiço Panorâmico do Monte da Várzea is a scenic viewpoint in the parish of Alvega e Concavada, in the municipality of Abrantes, district of Santarém. Set on an elevated spot above the Tagus River valley, it offers wide views over a landscape shaped by the river, gentle slopes, agricultural fields and Mediterranean vegetation.
This is a quiet place to pause and take in the natural surroundings, especially at sunrise or sunset, when the changing light brings out the colours of the valley. Its open setting also makes it an appealing stop for photography, with the Tagus and the rural landscape creating a peaceful backdrop.
Although it lies very close to the border with the district of Portalegre and the Gavião area, the viewpoint is located within the territory of Abrantes. Visitors should also note that the original swing is currently closed, but the site remains worth visiting for its panoramic setting and tranquil atmosphere. It is best enjoyed as a short scenic stop while exploring the riverside landscapes and villages of this part of central Portugal.
