In Armamar
Located in the village of Armamar, next to the Mother Church of São Miguel, from here you can see the small village of São Joaninho located in a valley, where temperatures easily reach 40 degrees Celsius in the summer. Further on in the landscape the Douro Valley appears and in the background the Marão mountain range. Next to this viewing point is Misarela waterfall, where the waters of the Temilobos River take a plunge on their journey to the Douro. It is a beautiful place, for the landscape it offers, which the popular imagination has filled with tales and legends. For a better observation of the waterfall it is recommended to visitors that they descend the road towards São Joaninho and stop just after exiting Armamar. From there they can contemplate this natural monument.

South Douro municipality with strong wine and fruit growing tradition. Its apples and cherries are famous throughout the country.
