"Located 465 meters above sea level, Miradouro do Bom Jesus owes its name to the invocation of the chapel built there. In the seventeenth century, it was already known as Bom Jesus do Castelo, due to its proximity to the mountain where the medieval fortification of the land of Albergaria de Penela existed."
