"Unlike other villages in the network, this is one of the "white villages": most of the schist buildings were plastered and painted white, except for their walls. It is a locality rich in religious heritage, possessing several chapels. This is due to the fact that the village has housed several religious orders, among which the Order of Malta stands out. As part of its historical heritage, the schist bridges over the Ribeira de Alvelos can be mentioned, one of which probably has Roman origin."
