In São Bartolomeu de Regatos
Also referred to as Lagoa da Falca, it is located in the Recreational Forest Reserve of Lagoa das Patas, next to the Estrada das Doze Ribeiras, in the parish of Doze Ribeiras, in the municipality of Angra do Heroísmo, in the island of Terceira, in the Azores. It is a small body of water, next to a stream of runoff water originating from Serra de Santa Bárbara, which feeds it. It is surrounded by large areas of cryptomeria forests planted by forest services. Behind this lagoon there is a natural area of rainfall accumulations consisting of a large and flat peat bog. Along the stream that feeds this lagoon, a great variety of the islands' native flora can be observed, mostly composed of cedar, the Azores' endemic gorse and the Azores' native oak tree.
