Kopali Beach, on the island of Maui, offers a truly special experience. This beautiful stretch of coastline is renowned for its long, swimmable shoreline, consistently delivering stunning sunset views – a perfect end to a day spent exploring the island. It’s wonderfully accessible, placing you within easy reach of some of Maui’s most treasured attractions and experiences.
Whether you’re a keen snorkeler, hoping to encounter marine life like turtles (as some visitors have been fortunate enough to do!), or simply seeking a peaceful escape, Kopali Beach has something for everyone. Whale watching is a particular highlight during certain seasons, and the famed Road to Hana is just a scenic drive away, offering a glimpse into the island’s dramatic landscapes. Don’t forget to indulge in the incredible local food and immerse yourself in the vibrant culture Maui has to offer.
The sand is particularly lovely, with a deep, soft texture – though it's worth noting that there are rocks and coral just a short distance from the shore, so comfortable water shoes are recommended. Parking can be challenging, especially early in the morning when boat operators secure the available spots. And when you’re feeling peckish, you’ll find a variety of dining options nearby to satisfy your appetite.
Many visitors return time and again, captivated by its beauty and the ease with which you can enjoy the island’s wonders. It’s a place where memories are made, and the spirit of Maui truly comes alive.

Beautiful beach. We were lucky enough to swim/snorkel with a turtle in the water. But then my husband and I witnessed a lady stepping on that turtles head and shell. 😢
VERY FUN!!!
Great beach
My favorite beach.
A lovely beach with deep sand. There are rocks and coral a short distance from shore, so wear some water shoes.
OMG! The sand was so soft and smooth that I was surprised when my feet touched the sand. Totally loved this beach and went back to this beach for 3 days! Hungry? There are various food options nearby for dine in or take outs. Thirsty? Same, various places to get drinks but any alcohol ordered in restaurants CANNOT be brought off premises to enjoy. Shopping? Lots of options if someone doesn’t want to go to the beach and wanted to shop instead. Most stores do validation for parking but it’s only for two hours. You could trouble yourself to move your car in and out every two hours, pay for the additional few hours after the two hours, or if you have insider scoop, you can find some secret parking (sorry my lips or closed on this).
Beautiful white sand beach. Waves are fun and not too big. Only thing that sucks is parking. Gotta few beach parking spots that are taken by the boat operators very early in the morning. So you gotta pay $30- $50 to park at Whalers Village to access the beach. They have many boats pulling onto the sand for the boat trips but they are in and out fast. Just pay attention where you are swimming.
