"The Carvoeiro Fort, originally named Fort Nossa Senhora da Encarnação, is a military monument, located near the locality of Carvoeiro, in the municipality of Lagoa, Portugal. Built in the 1670s to protect the coastline, it was heavily damaged by the 1755 Earthquake."
