Nestled in Fânzeres, a charming town just outside of Gondomar, the Parque Urbano de Fânzeres-S. Cosme offers a wonderful escape into nature. The park recently opened its doors, revealing a network of six pedestrian trails spanning six thousand meters, alongside a captivating elevated walkway following the course of the Torto river.
Currently, the first 1,950 meters of these trails are open to the public, providing an immediate opportunity to explore this beautiful green space. This initial phase represents a significant investment – over two million euros – and promises a tranquil experience for walkers and nature enthusiasts.
Plans are already underway for a second phase, which will expand the park’s offerings with dedicated sports areas, a playground for children, a dog park, and a leisure space specifically designed for older adults – the ‘Espaço Idade D’Ouro’. This next stage, expected to cost over one million and eight hundred euros, will further enhance the park’s appeal and provide a diverse range of activities for all ages. It’s a fantastic place to spend a leisurely afternoon, enjoying the fresh air and scenic views.
