Pastelaria Tupi is a true gem nestled in the heart of Porto, offering an authentic taste of Portugal and some of the very best pastéis de nata you’ll find. If you’re exploring the city centre and searching for a bakery with genuine character, this is the place to be. It’s a little off the main tourist routes, which gives it a wonderfully local feel – a welcome escape from the crowds.

What sets Tupi apart is their commitment to inclusivity, offering both traditional and delicious vegan pastéis de nata alongside a delightful selection of other pastries. We stopped by for a quick breakfast and were delighted with the simple yet satisfying options – think perfectly toasted bread with ham and melted cheese, or a tasty sandwich with grilled chicken. Of course, no visit is complete without indulging in the iconic pastel de nata itself; it’s truly exceptional.

They’re open early, starting at 7 AM, which is fantastic if you're adjusting to the time difference or simply an early riser. Breakfast here is definitely a good idea! It’s a cozy spot with a welcoming atmosphere, making it the ideal place to start your day exploring all that Porto has to offer.
