Porto is renowned for many things, but undoubtedly one of its most beloved treasures is the Pastel de Nata. And when it comes to experiencing this iconic Portuguese pastry, Mercado do Bom Sucesso and Manteigaria are absolute must-visits. These bakeries offer consistently delicious and freshly baked natas, a true testament to this simple yet sublime treat.

The pastry itself is delightfully light and crisp, with a thin, flaky crust that yields perfectly to the creamy custard filling. Forget overly sweet pastries – the balance here is exceptional, letting the rich, buttery flavour of the custard truly shine. You’ll find a wonderful selection of flavours available, from the classic original to exciting options like Nutella and raspberry, allowing you to discover your personal favourite.

Don’t miss out on pairing your nata with a perfectly brewed coffee. Both Mercado do Bom Sucesso and Manteigaria pride themselves on their excellent coffee, creating a truly indulgent experience. The staff are always attentive and friendly, adding to the welcoming atmosphere. It's a small pleasure, but one that perfectly encapsulates the warmth and deliciousness of Porto. A truly authentic taste of Portugal awaits!

Delicious Pasteis de Nata - the puff pastry crust was on the thin side but still crispy and flaky, and the filling was perfect - not too sweet! They had good coffee to accompany it as well!

Tried the 3 natas flavors: nutella, rasberry and the normal one. It is just ok, the staff was not pleasant. No smile.
