Church of the Shepherds (Leiria)
The Church of the Shepherds, in the parish of Marrazes, north of Leiria, is an exquisite and functional building, accessible by car, in the city center with a view of the city. In a “human space” of about 5,000 inhabitants, with people of different cultures and beliefs, this prayer and reflection space is a welcoming and pleasant place.
The new work was built in Quinta do Alçada, on land donated by the Leiria City Hall, built on the basis of a project by the Leiria architect Alexandra Cantante. This church accommodates 450 seated people, gathering them into one angle focused on the altar.
For those who visit it every Sunday, attending the prayer and reflection atmosphere of the church, there is no better way to praise this place than through the words of the parish priest himself:"I liked the priest and the community very much. It is very welcoming!”.
