The Church of Terra Chã, located in the Azorean parish of Terra Chã, municipality of Angra do Heroísmo, island of Terceira, evokes memories of times already lived. The Parish Church of Nossa Senhora de Belém offers an elegant and beautiful architecture, with the façade divided between the main body of the church and the bell tower. It was João Moniz Corte Real, descendant of the founders of an ancient hermitage, who donated the land for the construction of this church. The laying of the first stone took place on November 21, 1846, and the construction lasted until 1857. One of the causes of the delay was the lack of funds.
