The Church of Santo Antão, located in Praça do Giraldo, in Évora, is one of the greatest architectural wonders in Portuguese content. Founded in 1557, on the medieval shrine of Santo Antoninho, of the Order of the Temple, the church received intervention from Arruda, Brás Pires and Manuel Pires in its period of construction, between 1557 and 1563. Inside, it stands out for the ceiling in the shape of a dome and for the profusion of gilded carving and spectacular in the high altar and in the chapel of the Most Holy.
