Church of Saint Joseph of Carpinteiros (Lisboa)
Located in the heart of the capital, the Church of São José dos Carpinteiros is one of the most emblematic landmarks of the historic city. It is located at Rua da Fé 98, 1150-321 Lisbon, and the Church of São José dos Carpinteiros is made even more notable by being a post-earthquake building from 1755.
But beyond that, its main great attraction is the sophisticated tile panel representing an ancient period, given its gradually more elaborate paintings. The view of the city from the top of this Portuguese baroque marvel is absolutely unparalleled and it is an attraction not to be missed. Visitors can get there by car, taxi or public transport.
The Church of São José dos Carpinteiros is certainly a national heritage that cannot be lost. It celebrates its history by providing the incredible opportunity to absorb the majestic history of Lisbon. Its impressive panel of tiles serves as an important reminder of this past era, and it cannot be appreciated without going to visit.
