Located in the center of the city of Braga, in the parish of Ferreiros, the Church of Ferreiros was ordered to be renovated by King Dom Diogo de Sousa, reusing the Romanesque arch and the south facade of the primitive building. The parish church was for years used as the sacristy of the city, and today it is used as a funeral chapel. On the exterior facade of the church it is possible to see the faith coat of arms of Dom Diogo, as well as part of the plate band on the fronton. In 1919, the Church of Ferreiros celebrated its first mass. Inside the church is the main altar, with a painted canvas panel occupying the center, representing the chalice of consecration. On the sides, there are the images of Santa Maria de Ferreiros and São José. Near the side altars, the images of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Santo André stand out, accompanied by several saints such as São Sebastião. The Church of Ferreiros is accessible by car, offering a beautiful view of the city and, from this beautiful church, visitors can feel the historical past of Braga.
