Chapel of Our Lady of Help (Viana do Castelo, Portugal).
It is located near the current "Campos" pottery that makes the traditional Viana pottery. In the wine cellar "Campos" in Viana, the Chapel of Nossa Senhora da Ajuda has its first record in the listing of 1743 in the form of "ancient" and "erected more than forty years ago". It was instituted by devotees and lay people. Its main image is that of Nossa Senhora da Ajuda, flanked by paintings on wood and the granite pulpit with a carved heart.
History
The belief in Nossa Senhora da Ajuda was instilled for the opening of a Fraternity in 1693, as well as the biannual service on 8 September. The abbot chose the hermits of the chapel, having the key, the silver crown of the Lady, the radiance of the Child and other pieces of the factory.
Characteristics
This beautiful Chapel is located at Rua do Ermitério nº105, in the municipality of Viana do Castelo. A lawn with vegetable gardens and fruit trees encloses the space and its architectural features are engraved painting, chancel with an opening to the south, gilded altarpiece, bronze lamp and bell.
