"The so-called Castle of Relics is located on the banks of the Vascão river, in the parish of Giões, in the municipality of Alcoutim, Faro District, in Portugal. Dated from the Islamic period, it was an "hisn" that would dominate an "alfoz" rich in ore with several "alcarias" that would mainly exploit the copper."
