"Located on the Azorean island of São Miguel, in the archipelago of the Azores, in the municipality of Ponta Delgada, this lagoon is related to the volcanic formation of the Sete Cidades Massif. It is housed in a volcanic crater and its altitude above sea level is 700 meters, surrounded by the typical Macaronesian forests."
