"The Caldeira Lagoon is located inside the volcano's central caldera of the Faial Island, at an altitude of about 573 meters. Before the seismic crisis of the Capelinhos Volcano, this lagoon had a permanent water sheet. After the eruption of said Capelinhos Volcano and having a break in the bottom of the lagoon, it became almost seasonal since in summer it almost dries up."
