Bridge of Sequeiros (Sabugal)
The Sequeiros Bridge is located in Sequeiros, which would have given its name to the Sequeiros Bridge, on the river Côa, in the parish of Badamalos, in Sabugal municipality, in Guarda district, in Portugal.
It is a masterpiece of medieval engineering and was consolidated in the 15th century and remains standing to this day.
The bridge is Romanesque in style, in granite masonry, with three arches and the central one being the highest. It exceeds 20 meters in height.
On the 65-meter pedestrian deck, the central arch is also the highest point.
On one of the accesses we still see the vestiges of a tower, with two arches, which gives more gracefulness to the construction.
On the other hand, the tower also manifests a defensive intention, the status of a fortress.
