The Fraga Negra viewpoint is relatively close to the town of Gerês at an altitude of 575m. Established in 1962 by the Forestry Services, and mainly due to the initiative of Dr. Manuel Braga da Cruz, the viewpoint allows a view of the valley of the river Gerês, but at a lower altitude. In the center of the viewpoint arrangement stands an elegant oak. This is one of the four viewpoints that make up the PR6 - Trilho dos Miradouros and is also accessible on foot, 0.5km from the M-533 road, which connects the town of Gerês to Campo do Gerês.
