"On the hill overlooking the town of Vimioso lies the Atalaia Tower, which was part of the defensive system of the Castle of Vimioso. It is a circular-plan building, about 6 meters in height, made up of clay-mixed schist. To the north of the Atalaia there is a granite outcropping that directly supports part of the tower. This is surrounded by a ditch that may be from Roman times."
