In order to eliminate barriers and with a clear commitment to inclusion, the municipality of Barreiro installed at the City Park, the first adapted swing in the municipality designed for children with reduced mobility. But the council's bet is to expand the project and so has been creating more accessible buildings and has been doing work to lower sidewalks and crossings, with guides for the blind. According to Frederico Rosa, the president of the municipality of Barreiro, "We had several citizens, who without having children with these needs, were alerting us, which strengthened our conviction that the way is this.”
